April 7, 2016 – The human right to beauty is a natural emanation of human dignity – the source of all human rights. It is an affirmation of the right to life, peace, truth.  As John Keats intimated in Ode to a Grecian Urn, “beauty is truth, truth beauty”. There is Beauty in mercy, forgiveness, sharing, healing. Beauty is living in harmony with ourselves and our environment, with persons and landscapes.  It is neither static nirvana nor a dead-end, but dynamic work-in-progress, the continuing process toward completion, happiness, social justice – and light.
