SKIING IS A MODE OF BEING

Before the skiing season ends, Carla and I enjoyed a couple of days in Saas Grund and at the Belalp — surprised to see so much orange-coloured Sahara sands on the slopes — which, as we read, is partly radioactive as a result of the atomic tests done by France in the Sahara some 60 years ago.

Mountain weather, crackling fickle weather!
Heavy snow at times — or light as a goose feather,
brown when thawing, orange when Sahara sands
blow over from Mediterranean far-off lands.
