Lecturing at the University of Tübingen

On Saturday 11 May I spoke in the Aula of the University of Tübingen on Multilateralism in the 21st Century.  Back in 1971-72 I had been a FulbrightGraduate Fellow, matriculated in the law and history faculties — where my favouriteprofessors were Thomas Oppermann and Hans Rothfels.
Happy memories of housing in the old fraternity house of Corps Rhenaniawhere I made lasting friendships for life, friendships that I still cherish. Here some pictures of Saturday and Sunday 11/12 May 2019.Sunday we walked over to a restaurant perched on a Hill some 7 km away from town, famous for its “Moscht” or apple cider and its “Maultaschen” (raviolis in broth)– Gaudeamus igitur!

  1. Thank you for posting. Isn’t it great to have memories. While some thing are still the same, many have changed and often not for the better. Die “Studentenkultur” ist eine ganz andere geworden. Nationalstolz ist verpönt. Viele schämen sich Deutsche zu sein.
